Disappointed We Can’t See The T-Birds Picnic!
Are you sad because you can’t watch the Thunderbirds fly at this year’s Air Force Academy graduation? We are too! But since that’s not going to happen this year, we decided to host a picnic to ease your disappointment. Instead of the cutting edge technology of modern flight, bring a picnic lunch and come to the museum to see the technology of the Industrial Revolution! Hear the shrill whistle of our 1928 Osgood Steam Shovel. Watch the compressed air locomotive speed down the track and learn how it replaced the donkey in hauling mountains of ore. Afterward, make sure you bring enough carrots in your picnic lunch to share with our donkeys, Nugget and Chism, in their playpen. Tours including the operation of the outside equipment will start at 10am and 1pm and are included with paid admission. Admission $8-$4.

Mel Tillis
In light of all the attention given Mel Tillis' infamous speech impediment -- he even named his autobiography Stutterin' Boy -- the polished, sincere vocal delivery and songwriting skills that first earned him fame were often lost in the shuffle; nonetheless, throughout the course of his many decades in country music, Tillis has remained one of Nashville's most enduring personalities. Although he has recorded songs since the late 1950s with a long list of Top 10 hits, he has remained very popular. Tillis's biggest hits include "I Ain't Never", "Good Woman Blues", and "Coca-Cola Cowboy". He also has won the CMA Awards' most coveted award, Entertainer of the Year! Get your tickets today!

Straight No Chaser
If the phrase “male a cappella group” conjures up an image of students in blue blazers, ties, and khakis singing traditional college songs on ivied campuses… think again. Straight No Chaser (SNC) are neither strait-laced nor straight-faced, but neither are they vaudeville-style kitsch. They have emerged as a phenomenon with a massive fanbase, numerous national TV appearances and proven success with CD releases. They’re performing on the heels of the release of Under the Influence, their fourth album release through Atlantic Records. The album features contributions from superstars Jason Mraz, Rob Thomas, Phil Collins, Dolly Parton and more! Straight No Chaser is the real deal, the captivating sound of ten unadulterated human voices coming together to make extraordinary music that is moving people in a fundamental sense… and with a sense of humor.

Celtic Thunder "Mythology"
Celtic Thunder MYTHOLOGY is the latest show from Celtic Thunder. The core theme of Mythology is found in the original opening number "Voices", “Voices call from the old days, Voices tell from the past, Ancient laws and ancient old ways to recast.” It’s the story of the Celtic People, their legends, their culture and their stories. It’s the lifeblood of modern day Celtic people everywhere and the influences from our Celtic past, which are still carried in each one of us as part of whom we are and where we come from. The set of Mythology is big; it’s dramatic and imposing. The new and the old combine. Modern catalyst images are projected onto ancient monolithic standing stones, a giant Celtic cross takes center stage and the tempo of the music is strongly echoed in the theatrical and moody lighting. Mythology is by far Celtic Thunder’s most impressive production!

Rainbow Town Screening
This movie won an award at the 2011 Indie Spirit Film Festival in Colorado Springs! With war raging around her, she had to make a choice; to protect the orphaned children forced into her life or abandon them and go in search of her own family. Her name is Mother Feeta, and she wanted the children to live. So today, seven years since fighting ceased, at a rural Liberian farm named Rainbow Town, they live. All 86 of them. Fueled by an original soundtrack by the children and narrated by Mother Feeta, three of her children, and Liberia’s President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, this documentary unearths the price of war, while illustrating the strength of the human spirit. Major problems constantly face Rainbow Town, but clinging to faith and each other, Mother Feeta and her children must find a way to overcome.
