Newsboys Wrap up 2009 Tour

After capturing headlines this year with the announcement that longtime lead vocalist Peter Furler would resign the Newsboys, the group simultaneously launched the head-spinning news that former dc Talk singer Michael Tait would be Furler’s replacement.  Many wondered what this unusual mixture of talent would lead to.

Fortunately for all in the Newsboys (and their fans), the mixture has meant great success for the group in 2009; breathing fresh artistic life into the group.

After such an eventful 2009, the group has just completed touring around the United States.
From the Newsboys Twitter (11/15/09):  “Last show of 2009 tonight in Wilmington, OH. Thank you fans for a wonderful year. We love you!”

From here, the band sequesters themselves into the studio to create new music with their new singer.  In an awkward timing move earlier this year, Furler’s exit came immediately after the release of Newsboys’ In the Hands of God CD, therefore none of the work contained new singer Michael Tait on it.

Right after the first of the New Year, the Newsboys will be touring as part of “Winter Jam 2010 Tour Spectacular”.  Other artists on the Tour will include Third Day, Newsong, Tenth Avenue North, Fireflight, Sidewalk Prophets, Robert Pierre, and Revive.
